Barnard's Star is a red dwarf that is 6 light years away from Earth, making it the 4th closest star to Earth. It has an apparent magnitude of 9.5 and is invisible to the unaided eye, requiring a telescope. It is located in the Ophiuchus constellation and was discovered in the 1890s; E. E. Barnard in 1916, who measured its proper motion, had the star named after him. The star also has a radius of 0.196 times the radius of the Sun as well as 0.144 times solar mass.
In the Tasty Planet game, Barnard's Star is in Cosmos 2, where it can be eaten when Wolf 359 is eaten by the Grey Goo.
