Formerly known as Ran, Epsilon Eridani is a main-sequence star located in the southern constellation of Eridanus. At a distance of 10.5 light years from Earth, it has an apparent magnitude of 3.73, allowing people to see it with the unaided eye. Being less than a billion years of age, Epsilon Eridani has a higher level of magnetic activity than the Sun. Being smaller and less massive though (0.82 x solar mass | 0.735 x solar radius), it has been known to astronomers since the 2nd century AD, and also has its own planetary system, with Epsilon Eridani b as its closest star. Epsilon Eridani c is unconfirmed as an existing planet, though.

It appears in the Cosmos region in Tasty Planet, appearing in one level.
