A quark is a type of elementary particle and a fundamental constituent of matter. Quarks combine to form composite particles called hadrons, the most stable of which are protons and neutrons, the components of atomic nuclei.

- They come in three colors: red, green, and blue. This mirrors the study of quantum chromodynamics, which gives quarks a property known as a "color charge". Real quarks don't have an actual color, being smaller than all visible wavelengths of light, but the name and portrayal to match comes from using RGB lights (such as in pixels) as a metaphor; barring exceptional circumstances, quarks in the real world must always be in groups that add up to a neutral "white".

- They have the same texture as Universes.
- They are the smallest entity in the entire Tasty series.
- If the Goo were to try to eat only a single quark in the real world, it would have to exert so much energy to overcome the Strong Nuclear Force holding them together that more quarks would be created out of it. This behavior is not in the game for obvious reasons.
